We refer to a set of specific HPWPs within an organization as a high-performance work system. WebPerformance management often focuses almost purely on assessing employees’ past performance and linking it to administrative decisions (for example, on pay). This is a mistake. If the ultimate aim is to improve performance, there should also be a strong focus on how employees need to develop.
