WebNov 27, 2024 · Trailer shouldn't be towed without a pin in the locking leaver on the hitch ball. Just about any padlock will work in that location instead of a pin. I have multiple trailers, and use keyed alike Master pad locks in each one both on and off the towing vehicle. At least someone would have to use bolt cutters to either attatch or detach the trailer.
